In Poland, a Ukrainian woman was raped in a hostel room in front of her child
A woman from Ukraine became a victim of sexual violence in the town of Mszczonów, located about 50 km from Warsaw.
She was temporarily staying in one of the local hostels with her young daughter, trying to avoid contact with her neighbors — three men, citizens of Georgia.
According to the victim, one evening one of the men came home intoxicated and began demanding she translate a conversation with his acquaintance from Ukraine. The woman refused several times, explaining that she did not want to communicate.
Later, when her child fell asleep, the woman went to the kitchen — and at that moment the man attacked her. He covered her mouth so she could not call for help and dragged her into a room where he raped her. Despite her screams, even after the child awoke and began to cry, the assailant did not stop the violence.
Subsequently, he took the woman’s phone and laptop, stayed in the apartment, threatened her, and drank beer. When he went to the bathroom, the woman seized the moment — grabbed her child, and fled the room barefoot. She ran to the neighboring entrance and, knocking on doors, asked a resident to call the police.
The woman is now safe. Information regarding the investigation of the incident by the Polish police is not being disclosed at the moment.
