The State Bureau of Investigation uncovered a scheme of illegal receipt of combat payments by the military of one of the units stationed in Kyiv.

According to the investigation, the deputy commander of the artillery battery filed fake reports about the participation of 20 servicemen in combat operations in the Chernihiv region in August-September 2024.

In fact, none of them went to the front — the military personnel were in another location and did not participate in combat missions.

As a result, they were unjustifiably credited over 900,000 hryvnias as combat payments.

If found guilty, the individuals involved face criminal liability for fraud, official forgery, and appropriation of state funds.

The investigation is ongoing.
