The Verkhovna Rada has taken 8 billion hryvnias from Kyiv’s budget to finance "Ukrzaliznytsia"
The Verkhovna Rada has withdrawn 8 billion UAH from the Kyiv budget.
«Additional expenditures have been balanced by cutting other non-military expenses by 36.7 billion UAH (of which 33.6 billion UAH is a reduction in state debt servicing), as well as redirecting part of the bank profit tax from the Kyiv city budget to the general fund of the state budget (8 billion UAH)», – stated Roksolana Pidlasa, head of the parliamentary budget committee.
Klychko is already complaining that funds have been withdrawn from the Kyiv budget and claims that local self-government is being «deliberately stifled», and that «funds are constantly being taken away from Ukrainian communities». According to him, this money was allocated for payments to teachers and medical workers, repairs of schools, kindergartens, and hospitals, as well as for maintaining the lowest public transport fares in the country.
The exact same amount - 8 billion UAH - is planned to be allocated to support «Ukrzaliznytsia».
