France and Ukraine are working on joint production of drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces

France and Ukraine are working on launching drone production for the Ukrainian army, which could be organized in both countries.

This was stated by the French Ambassador to Ukraine, Gaël Veyssiere.

According to him, the issue of launching drone production in Ukraine by a French company is still under discussion.

"Our Minister of Defence announced that the project will be implemented together with a very well-known French company, a leader in the field of production. This could be a very interesting initiative, as it involves supplying a large number of high-quality drones. Production could be organized either in both countries simultaneously or initially in France and later in Ukraine. This is still a subject of discussion," Veyssiere said.

He added that the French side is also holding consultations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as he has publicly called for stronger support in purchasing Ukrainian drones for Ukraine.

"Of course, we are also working on joint production opportunities in Ukraine, and we hope that we will be able to speak more openly about this in the future. For security reasons, we cannot disclose too many details, but I am confident that drone production should take place both in France and in Ukraine," the ambassador noted.

According to him, it is very beneficial when production facilities are located in Ukraine, as it saves time and resources, including not only production but also repair and maintenance.

"At the same time, it is important to utilize the capabilities that our own countries already have. Therefore, we are working on all these directions," Veyssiere added.
