The Russians have begun to launch FPV drones from larger UAVs en masse, thus hitting targets at distances of tens of kilometers.

This is reported by the Ukrainian military.

Today, the Russian army used this method in an attack on Zaporizhzhya, using a reconnaissance UAV as a carrier and repeater for FPV, reports a Ukrainian soldier with the call sign "Ten".

He also posted a photo of the reconnaissance drone "Orlan-10," where FPV drones are placed under the wings.

According to him, this is a way for the Russian army to strike targets deep within the operational formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The testing is ongoing, but this usage will become widespread soon, the soldier believes.

A Ukrainian serviceman with the call sign "Muchnyi" also notes that the Russians have begun using the UAV "Molniya" to deliver FPVs controlled via a SIM card into the rear areas of the defence line.

"The feature of this application is that the ’Molniya’ flies without a control channel using a compass and without a camera (which helps to avoid detection when approaching the front line and deeper into the defence by technical means). Upon entering the coverage area of the mobile network operator, FPV drone control via a SIM card is activated, and the attack is carried out. After this, the operator guides the FPV using the usual scheme — via the video channel, but using the mobile network. Thus, the strike occurs deeper in the rear, where a classic FPV could not reach due to the limited signal range," he wrote.
