Syrskyi ordered to enhance the operation of drone interceptors of "Shaheds"

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are continuing efforts to enhance their potential in countering strike drones of the "Shahed" type.

This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, following a comprehensive meeting dedicated to the development of this segment of air defence.

"We are creating a layered system to counter hostile ’Shaheds’ and ’Gerans’.

Our joint task is to form more such crews, train more interceptor operators, and provide them with more effective striking means and radar systems."

It was noted that during the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief received reports on the effectiveness of tasks performed by UAV interceptor units; the current status and future prospects for equipping units with various types of drones; plans for further actions to increase the efficiency of combating enemy strike and reconnaissance UAVs; existing problems and proposals to resolve them.

Syrskyi emphasized that air defence is a priority for both the state and the Armed Forces, as the effectiveness of the "anti-Shahed" system and the reliability of missile protection impact the security of the Ukrainian rear.

The Commander-in-Chief stated that the selection of personnel for UAV interceptor crews will continue, as the formation of new regular units is planned.

Following the meeting, tasks were set to address deficiencies and strengthen efforts in the direction of interceptor drones.
