They brought us 49 summonses: the head of the Virskyi Ensemble on how he managed to reserve employees
Myroslav Vantukh, the director of the National Honored Dance Ensemble named after Pavlo Virskyi, noted that currently 50% of the male members of the ensemble are exempt from military service.
An interview with the artist was published on September 3 on the YouTube channel TSN.
Vantukh reported that the ensemble includes 52 men.
"Our ensemble has the status of critically important, and we are granted exemptions at a rate of 50%. It was the same last year when, before a trip to Taiwan (Republic of China), it became clear that 50% was not enough. The contract with Taiwan had already been signed, and the program was presented. I appealed to higher authorities – to the Minister of Defence, to the General Staff, and explained the situation. In the end, they granted us a bit more," he said.
The artist recalled an instance when, before a concert, the ensemble was issued 49 draft notices.
"Who will I travel with? With three guys? Unfortunately, the military commissioner didn’t even want to listen to me," Vantukh emphasized.
According to him, he once again appealed to the leadership of Ukraine to resolve the situation that had arisen.
