The director of a state institute has been exposed for fraudulent activities involving state property.

Officials of the Institute of Fisheries and Sea Ecology, under the guise of "scientific programs," permitted the catch of 258 tons of aquatic bioresources, which were never recorded in the accounting as state assets.

According to the findings of a forensic economic examination, the budget losses amounted to nearly 15 million hryvnias.

Currently, the National Police is conducting a pre-trial investigation under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
