Ukrainian EW systems have increased their effectiveness against the Russian "Kinzhal" missile
Ukrainian electronic warfare (EW) systems have begun to demonstrate better effectiveness against the Russian "Kinzhal" missile.
This was reported by a source in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The faster the missile moves, the harder it is for it to determine its coordinates, and consequently, the more vulnerable it is to the effects of jamming systems," the interlocutor said.
It is noted that due to this feature and the increase in EW systems, the Ukrainian military has been able to increase the effectiveness of their impact on the missile.
According to the General Staff, Russia has lost at least $1.5 billion in its fight against EW. In particular, the Russians are forced to use CRPA - antennas on their systems, which are expensive.
The corresponding module is installed by the Russians in particular in GABs and "Shaheds." The cost of one such antenna is 10-17 thousand dollars.
"During this time, the enemy has launched about 8,000 GABs and already about 40,000 ’Shaheds’ – these are air defence systems. All of them have these CRPA antennas, and they cost from 10,000 to 17,000 dollars. Adding this up, it turns out that the enemy has spent 1.5 billion dollars in fighting EW," said a representative of the General Staff.
It is also reported that over time the Russians have begun to use increasingly complex antennas. Initially, they installed four-element receivers and then increased to 8-element and 16-element antennas.
