Russia launched 172 UAVs at Ukraine: Air Defence Forces destroyed 136 aerial targets
On the night of September 17, Russia attacked Ukraine from the air again: the enemy used 174 aerial attack means. Air defence forces neutralized 136 UAVs.
Strikes were recorded in several locations. Details were reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The latest air attack on Ukraine was launched by the Russians around 6:00 PM on September 16.
The invaders launched an Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile and an S-300 guided anti-aircraft missile from the Rostov and Kursk regions. The enemy also utilized 172 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Geran, and other types for the attack from the directions of Russian Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and from Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.
More than 100 of them turned out to be "Shaheds."
The air strike was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:30, air defence systems shot down/suppressed 136 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Geran, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country.
Missile and 36 strike UAV hits were recorded at 13 locations.
