Zelenskyy: Russia has launched over 650 drones and more than 50 missiles at Ukraine

Russian forces launched over 650 drones and more than 50 missiles on Ukraine overnight. Many targets were shot down, but there are hits.

This was reported on the Telegram channel of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"In many of our regions, emergency and rescue operations are ongoing after the overnight Russian attack. A complex combined strike: the enemy used over 650 drones and more than fifty missiles of various types, including ballistic and aeroballistic ones. Many were shot down, but unfortunately, there are hits," Zelenskyy stated.

According to him, the shelling damaged ordinary residential buildings in Zaporizhzhya, and a dormitory was destroyed. Dozens of people were injured as a result of the strike, including five children. Unfortunately, two people were killed. Rescue operations are ongoing.

In Ladyzhyn, a seven-year-old boy sustained severe injuries. There were also many insidious strikes on energy infrastructure and civilian life in the regions: Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Dnipro, Chernihiv, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions.

"All necessary services are involved, and we must make every effort to restore power and water supply as quickly as possible wherever it is currently unavailable," added the President of Ukraine.

The head of state also emphasized that Russia continues its terrorist war against life, and it is important that every such vile attack on civilians results in specific consequences for Russia – sanctions and real pressure.

"We expect that America, Europe, and the G7 countries will not ignore Moscow’s desire to destroy everything. New steps in pressure are needed: on the Russian oil and gas industry and finances, secondary sanctions on those who sponsor this war. I thank everyone who works for peace," he added.
