The President of Ukraine has announced the 20th EU sanctions package against Russia

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects the content of the 20th EU sanctions package against Russia to be prepared within a month and proposes to include Russian legal and natural persons who profit from energy resources, as well as individuals involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy while addressing Ukrainians at the end of the 1355th day of the war – on Sunday, November 9. 

"We are preparing, together with our partners in the European Union, the 20th sanctions package. We expect the content of this package to be prepared within a month and propose to include in the 20th EU sanctions package Russian legal and natural persons who still profit from energy resources.

There will also be updates regarding the abductors of Ukrainian children. There must be truly global pressure against this."

Zelenskyy also emphasized that "there must be significantly more pressure on all sectors that enable Russian military production to function."

"Every Russian missile, every Russian drone – these are specific components from other, specific countries, without which Russian weapons would not exist. Work on this must be much more active. And this is also the responsibility of, among others, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine," – he said.

The President also announced new negotiations in the coming weeks to secure greater support for the energy sector.

"There are countries that are already helping us, particularly in the states of Northern Europe. And we are preparing agreements with countries in Southern Europe as well. From a political perspective, such geographically balanced support for Ukrainians and our state in Europe is very important," – Zelenskyy added.
