This morning, July 2, a drunk driver driving a Honda CR-V in Dnipro crashed into a house and resisted patrol officers during his arrest.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:00. According to the police, they noticed a car on Sicheslavska Embankment that was moving, violating traffic rules. The car drove up to house No. 27, the driver began to open the automatic gates, the patrol officers asked him to stop, but the person behind the wheel ignored the requests.

The car stopped in the bushes

Driving into the yard, the driver lost control, crashed into a house, then continued driving and stopped in the bushes. He was clearly drunk. He refused to take an alcohol test.

"I approached him and asked him to turn off the car, and my partner quickly blocked his traffic. When I realized that the driver would not stop, I stuck my hand through the window to turn off the engine, but the driver picked it up and tried to drive on, pinning my hand," one of the patrolmen said.

Police officers inspect the car

The patrol officers found a regional state administration ID card in the name of Serhiy Herasymchuk on the owner of the SUV.

But the Honda driver himself claims that he has nothing to do with the administration and is currently temporarily unemployed. He asked the patrol officers to call a personal lawyer and threatened to sue for staining his shirt worth 2 thousand hryvnia. The drunk man also gave his version of what happened. According to him, he was not driving a car, but was calmly walking along the street. For some unknown reason, the patrol officers allegedly overpowered him, broke the window in his car and took his documents.

The driver faces a fine of 10,200 hryvnia and a suspension of his driving license for 1 year.

Several patrol police crews worked at the scene. The car was taken away by a tow truck, the driver was taken to the police station.
