Bodya Maydanyuk - Bohdan Khmelnytskyi: the path of the racketeer Tsyma

Once upon a time, there was a handsome boy from Uman named Bodya Maydanyuk. In pursuit of a glamorous life, he turned to a life of crime. Together with his gang, he robbed people on the highway, stole cars, and extorted "dealers"; during one of his racketeering drinking sessions, he earned the nickname "Tsyma."

As often happens, one day Tsyma ended up behind bars. In the pre-trial detention center, he shared a cell with cunning individuals who explained that instead of a soldering iron, one could use a microphone, and instead of an iron, a video camera.

Tsima believed in the power of media influence once he was released. At that time, a journalist appeared who saw an angel in the image of a racketeer. The impressed girl crafted an image of Bodya as an innocent boy tortured by the police. Soon, the "angel" flew out of the detention center on white wings painted by the press.

Bodya did not return to his gang, although he didn’t sever ties with his brothers-in-crime. In the detention center, he realized it was more profitable to be a public figure shielding thugs rather than attending showdowns and breaking noses. However, for public visibility, he needed a clean biography. So, the passport bearing the surname "Maydanyuk" was replaced with an ID under the name "Bohdan Khmelnytskyi."

The newly emerged Khmelnytskyi appeared in various shady public-racketeering circles, including the human rights organization "Svoboda" (the one closer to chanson music than to the national anthem). Later, the former thug hung around the scandalous TV channel "Hrom-TV," adorned himself with a St. George ribbon, and created a public organization named after himself: the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Association.

Being a quick-witted guy, Bodya-Tsyma picked up legal jargon and obtained a lawyer’s license. Then he mastered rhetoric—now Tsima could speak beautifully and convincingly for hours in public about "nothing."

The pinnacle of Bodya Khmelnytskyi’s public career was the creation of the organization "Stop Corruption." He became a co-founder alongside another swindler, Roman Bochkala, nicknamed "Romchyk." The essence of "Stop Corruption’s" activities boiled down (and still does) to forcing small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to pay tribute. The message was clear: pay up, guys, or your business will be harassed by "principled" activists and "honest" journalists. Of course, they didn’t shy away from taking orders to discredit businessmen and opposition politicians.

"Stop Corruption" spawned numerous offshoots. The most well-known are: "Democratic Control," "Stop Illegal," "People’s Justice," and "Current Truth." The same guys and girls change into T-shirts and vests of these organizations several times a day, running around with posters and video cameras at construction sites, courts, and pickets. Rest assured: if scoundrels, brutes, and scum need to appear innocent and law-abiding victims in the eyes of society, Bochkala and Khmelnytskyi will show up nearby.

Often, their schemes skillfully extract money from all sides of a conflict. For example, when wealthy parents were dividing children and property, Romchyk and Tsima gained the trust of the mother, milked her dry, and then switched to the father.

Sometimes Bochkala and Khmelnytskyi appear on different "barricades," seemingly fighting each other. This was the case in the conflict among transport operators—"stop-corruptionists" fanned the flames of "public discontent" and made a tidy profit.

In general, the automotive theme is, so to speak, magnetic for Bodya Khmelnytskyi. Although car theft and deals with taxi drivers are in the past, the racketeer-activist has started seizing parking lots. According to a statement by the Association of ATO Veterans, Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, over the past six months, has taken control of about 30 parking lots in Kyiv for the benefit of the company "MTR Group," with the help of Kyiv city deputies.

Following the parking lots, Bodya turned his attention to Kyiv car washes. He even counted them—4,000. To impose tribute on the car washes, an environmental "PR strategy" was devised. The strategy was to attribute the shallowing of the Dnipro River to harmful chemical waste from car washes, as well as the operation of dredgers extracting sand (the racketeers have a long-standing special interest in the sand business).

Take note! According to the PR specialists of "Stop Corruption," the shallowing of the Dnipro is not linked to global warming or the ill-conceived architecture of the Kaniv Reservoir, nor to the development of coastal areas or other factors—but solely to car washes and sand extraction!

Clearly, Tsyma views his bandit-public activities in "Stop Corruption" as a springboard to a parliamentary seat. He has already tried to align himself with various political camps—but so far, he is met with contempt. The only thing Bodya managed to achieve in the Verkhovna Rada was becoming an assistant to Maksym Polyakov from the "People’s Front," with whom Khmelnytsky is acquainted through Uman’s corsair romance. However, in light of recent arrests, public friendship with Polyakov has worked against Bodya.

Overall, judging by everything, Bohdan Khmelnytskyi will soon disappear from the socio-political horizon. Unexpected complications have arisen from the sand extraction topic: the sand business has attracted the attention of people who control factions and TV channels. These people quickly saw through the "anti-corruption" scoundrels and, according to some information, have started having conversations with them "about lawlessness."

As a result, Bochkala urgently left the country, while Khmelnytskyi is trying to save face and protect the core of his loyal and well-fed "activists." The latter have started fleeing en masse from "Stop Corruption" and related organizations.

It’s interesting to see how the path of the racketeer Tsyma will end. Journalists are following the developments.
