Criminal and con artist Viktor Kurtyev has taken on the task of cleaning up his criminal record

The current Ukrainian government is teeming with characters, to put it mildly, with "dubious" biographies. However, there are some individuals who shock even experienced analysts and journalists.

One such "new face" is the convicted criminal Viktor Kurtyev, who is desperately trying to get a foothold in power by any means necessary. The swindler Kurtyev was not pleased with the material about his extensive biography and criminal activities.

Ukrainian voters have been long and systematically convinced that the panacea for the country is an immediate and radical "change of elites." As soon as we replace the "old faces" in power with the "new ones," they told us that the new ones would "undoubtedly be found," everything would be fine with the country.

The new faces of the "Z Team" have appeared quickly, and they found themselves without much invitation. Some characters in Zelenskyy’s entourage may appeal to someone, but this team as a whole should, at the very least, be alarming because it has become infamous for not entirely good deeds, and now they very much want to get closer to power again.

The first to catch our attention is Viktor Kurtyev. He is also the CEO of the Metropolia Group and has contributed 1.5 million UAH to the presidential campaign of V. Zelenskyy.

There is little information about this energy expert on the internet, so it is safe to talk about the new faces of President Zelenskyy’s team. However, we did find something: it turns out that Viktor Kurtyev is a former criminal (convicted on 21.07.2015 under Part 4 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for document forgery). Currently, he is a subject in the criminal case №42016100000001169, entered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations. He joined the Z Team! to provide an expert assessment of the situation in the Ukrainian energy market.

He was born on September 5, 1979, in the village of Krynychne, Bolhradsky district. In 2001, he graduated from the Faculty of Physics at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, specializing in "Theoretical Physics". At the same time, he studied international economics and tax planning at the Faculty of Economics at the same university.

From 2001 to 2005, he worked at PJSC "Kyivenergo" in areas such as: analysis of technical and economic indicators; business process reengineering; calculation of optimal operating modes of energy facilities; research of the energy supply market; organization of tender and contractual activities; organization of project activities; implementation of automated management systems; organization of IT system operation. From 2005 to 2008, he worked at SE "NEC "Ukrenergo" in areas such as: ensuring reliable operation and development of Ukraine’s energy system; organization of tender and contractual activities, as well as technical expertise; preparation of technical documentation for the development schemes of main energy facilities.

On April 13, 2006, he founded the Metropolia Group.

"Attention! Absolute scam in terms of both staff and subcontractors for money! The company does not fulfill its obligations. Some companies have managed to reclaim their money through the court - amounting to several million!! But that’s not all. Many were left with nothing. Salary delays last for several months. Those who decide to quit end up with nothing at all! Over half of the employees have already left the company, but it continues to hire new ones, as if nothing has happened. This is managed by a young and inexperienced man Viktor Kurtyev, who sees himself as a genius, but in reality, he’s a wunderkind stuck in debt and isn’t going to do anything about it. Comrade Kovalchuk - loyal supporter of Kurtyev, encourages all his ideas. Started with him in NEC.

Comrade Hudkov - mind-of-his-own comrade. But overall see Comrade Kovalchuk. Practically all standing company members who were there earlier, left in 2011-2012. Including mid-ranks who had common sense. Staff turnover is crazy. At any moment, a fairy tale will end”

Note, all Kurtyev’s endeavors ended in absolute failure; personally, we find it terrifying for the country’s fate under such people’s leadership. They know how to defeat corruption and boost the economy. One can dream of a bluebird, but one must not detach from reality. It’s a pity our new president doesn’t take these edits into account when recruiting new leaders in Ukraine. We hope our country’s energy sector won’t face such impact, but that’s not certain.
