An Iranian fraudster in the corridors of Ukrainian power – who is Ali Reza Rezazadeh?

An Iranian who has long used Ukraine as a testing ground for numerous of his own scams, Ali Reza Rezazadeh, is still at large despite his numerous machinations.

" Lenta.ua " writes about this.

He carefully cleans up the truthful information about himself from the Internet, however, we still managed to find out about this man’s participation in money laundering, fraud, tax evasion and other crimes.

Ali Reza Rezazadeh settled in our country back in the early nineties. And almost immediately fell into the orbit of Ukrainian officials. First, he married the daughter of the then Minister of Internal Affairs, Oleksiy Chystyakov. His last name has already been forgotten, but he is one of the closest associates of Vitaliy Zakharchenko, the killer of Maidan and Yanukovych’s man. And then he built strong ties with politicians and officials. It is thanks to this that for many years now, without attracting much attention, Rezazadeh has been carrying out any schemes with impunity.

To the public, he is the vice-president of the National Iranian Congress. But this organization is a real soap bubble, created solely for cover. In reality, Rezazadeh has long been exposed by foreign media. An article about him was published by American publications after the Iranian tried to deceive local politicians. He called himself a human rights activist, a politician, an investor, and even the heir to the Iranian throne.

But the scams of this "investor" and "heir" did not go unnoticed. To understand the style and scale of this figure, here is an example that also managed to get into the media. This is the story of how Rezazade promised Ukrainian MP Karpuntsov to introduce him to the US Attorney General. He took money for the services, even organized a trip to the States. That was it - there was no introduction, of course.

This way of earning money is one of Rezazadeh’s favorites. To be a mediator, to pretend to be a profitable negotiator, to offer his services in establishing connections between people, to impose assistance in reconciliation. And all this for a lot of money. The obvious question is - who among influential and adequate people could be interested in this? But let’s not forget that over the years in Ukraine, the Iranian not only became part of the family of the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but also made many useful contacts. One of these is General Vasyl Hrytsak, he headed the Security Service of Ukraine from 2015 to 2019 .

It was probably thanks to Hrytsak that Rezazade received personal security from Alpha fighters, began calling himself a colonel-intelligence officer and, at the same time, carried out land deals near Kyiv worth millions of dollars.

For more than twenty years, the Ukrainian authorities have allegedly not seen the swindler’s activities. He feels free in the capital, uses drugs and continues to implement his schemes.

Nothing has changed for Ali Reza Rezazadeh even after the start of the war with Russia and the full-scale invasion. It seems that no one cares that a direct agent of Russia, with stable, well-established connections with former Ukrainian security officials-fugitives, continues to live in Kyiv and closely cooperate with the Ukrainian authorities.
