NABU detective fails to return UAH 1.5 million to man’s relatives for 5 years
Detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau Iryna Spichak borrowed 1.5 million hryvnia from her husband’s parents (father-in-law and mother-in-law) and did not pay it back for more than 5 years. This is stated on her 2022 annual return, which she filed in 2024.
A NABU detective borrowed 1 million hryvnia from her father-in-law in 2018. On the same day, she lent 500 thousand hryvnia from her mother-in-law.
At the end of the reporting period, she had not returned a penny to them. Together with her husband, the detective keeps 38 thousand dollars.
During the year of the war, she received more than 1.3 million hryvnia in salary. Her husband works for the National Police and earned more than 1.1 million hryvnia in 2022. Until 2019, the detective’s father-in-law was a deputy of the village council in the Rivne region.
