The President recorded a video message on the occasion of the second anniversary of the large-scale Russian invasion.
On Saturday, 24 February, on the second anniversary of Russia’s large-scale invasion, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy recorded a video message from Gostomel, against the backdrop of Ukrainian aircraft destroyed by Russian troops.
"I am in Gostomel. It was from here that the ’take Kyiv and Ukraine in three days’ was supposed to begin. I can say it in one sentence: Two years ago, we met the enemy landing force here with fire, two years later, we meet our friends and partners here," Zelenskyy said.
He added that any normal person wants the war to end:
"But none of us will allow our country to end. That is why we always add to the words "end of the war": "on our terms". That is why the word "peace" is always followed by: "fair". That is why in the future history, the word "Independent" will always stand next to the word "Ukraine". We are fighting for it. And we will win. On the best day of our lives."
Zelenskyy concluded his address with words of gratitude:
"Thank you to all of you, soldiers, to our people and to everyone in the world who stands with us and the truth."
