Zelenskyy and Western leaders give a joint press conference at the airfield in Gostomel

The prime ministers of Canada, Italy and Belgium, as well as the President of the European Commission, are taking part in the press conference.

During a joint press conference in Gostomel, Italian Prime Minister and G7 head Giorgia Meloni called this city a symbol of Moscow’s failure. She thanked the Ukrainians for standing up in defense of their state two years ago, thereby also defending Europe.

"This place is a symbol of the failure of Moscow. This place is a symbol of Ukrainian pride. In this place you can breathe history, and history reminds you that there is something stronger than missiles, bombs, hunger and cold. This something is love for the Motherland, love for freedom and the desire to guarantee a prosperous and successful future for our children,” the prime minister said.

The head of the G7 quoted lines from the Ukrainian anthem and added that it was at the Gostomel airfield that Ukrainians gave “soul and body for freedom.”
