As established by the State Bureau of Investigation, the deputy was moving from the capital to Lviv exceeding the speed limit.

“In particular, cameras on the Kyiv-Chop highway recorded an excess of the permissible speed from 40 to 50 km/h, including one of the cameras recorded such an excess within the settlement where the tragedy occurred. This was confirmed by phototechnical examination,” they note. department.

“The driver, exceeding the permitted speed, did not take sufficient measures to reduce the speed until the vehicle stopped and allowed a collision with the victim. The girl died from her injuries at the scene,” the State Bureau of Investigation reports.

According to the investigation’s conclusions, the driver’s compliance with the requirements of traffic rules for moving at a permissible speed of no more than 110 km/h and timely braking would have allowed the deceased to leave the roadway.

“It also became known that the culprit of the accident was systematically brought to administrative responsibility by the patrol police for speeding, including in 2022-2023 alone, 22 decisions were issued against him,” the department noted.
