More than 800 Russian cyberattacks on Ukrainian state institutions and services recorded

Law enforcement officials have recorded more than 800 attempts at Russian cyberattacks on government agencies and services in Ukraine.

Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin in Kyiv at a meeting with colleagues from the US Department of Justice Nathan Brooks and Tim Rank, the Office of the Prosecutor General reports on Telegram.

“The scale of Russian cyber operations against Ukraine is steadily growing. More than 800 attempted cyber attacks on government institutions and services have been recorded. Among them are energy infrastructure facilities that are constantly under the enemy’s guns.”

It is reported that strategies for investigating Russian cybercrimes committed against Ukraine and partner countries were also discussed at the meeting.

The Prosecutor General said that the Russians also conduct information operations to destabilize Ukrainian society and attack telecommunication systems to deprive citizens of access to mobile communications and the Internet.

Kostin asked his American colleagues to share their experience and support Ukraine for an effective and comprehensive investigation of these crimes.
