SSU detained a collaborator who adjusted airstrikes on Kharkiv
In the Kharkiv region, the SSU exposed a Russian agent who, from the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, helped the enemy adjust airstrikes on the city.
“In the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the attacker scouted out the bases and movements of Ukrainian troops who were fighting for the regional center. Most of all, he was interested in the locations of the firing positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ air defense complexes. Such information was especially valuable for the occupiers. This allowed Russian bombers to strike at city, bypassing air defense," the SSU reports.
Details: According to the investigation, the enemy agent turned out to be a resident of the Kharkiv region, who was recruited by Russian military intelligence even before the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The man passed on all the intelligence data to his godmother, who is one of the commanders of the Russian sabotage and reconnaissance detachment "Irbis" and has the call sign "Baghira".
On the eve of the de-occupation of the region, the attacker “lay low.” The man suspended contacts with Russian intelligence and almost never left his own home.
Law enforcement officers informed him of suspicion of treason. The attacker is currently in custody. He faces 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
