The Lithuanian government on Wednesday, March 20, announced the allocation of 35 million euros for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine. This will happen within the framework of the Czech initiative.

This statement was made by the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Simonyte.

She wrote about this on her account on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter.

“The Lithuanian government has allocated 35 million euros for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine as part of the Czech ammunition initiative. Total, whatever is needed for victory!” – the message says.

It is worth noting that Finland will allocate 30 million euros to Ukraine for the purchase of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These funds will also be used to finance the Czech initiative to supply shells to Ukraine from third countries.

Earlier, the European Union announced the delivery of about half of the promised million artillery ammunition to Ukraine. Ukrainian soldiers should receive them by the end of March. In general, this year Ukraine may receive more than a million ammunition in 2024 as part of the European Union initiative.
