NATO refused to call Ukraine a victim: “You adapted and fought back”

Ukraine cannot be called a “victim,” since such a statement is disrespectful of the successful efforts of the Ukrainian people. Dutch Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, made a corresponding statement at the Kyiv Security Forum.

Ukraine is experiencing incredible suffering. The state is losing people and things that can never be replaced.

“To still call you a victim would not do justice to your inexhaustible strength,” he explained.

Rob Bauer noted that Ukraine has demonstrated historical resilience. Despite all the suffering, all the destruction, the state remains sovereign and society remains united. The admiral said that the whole world sees the strength of the Ukrainian people.

“You adapted and fought back,” added the chairman of the NATO Military Committee.

The Ukrainian people and Ukrainian armed forces, as Bauer noted, are defending themselves in a way that the world has never seen before. The Ukrainians have revolutionized many aspects of modern warfare, facing a combination of World War I trenches and artillery with drones and 21st century artificial intelligence.
