One defence perimeter lost: protection of Crimean bridge significantly reduced - Ukrainian Navy

The security of the illegally built Crimean Bridge on the sea side has been reduced, but despite this, the bridge still remains a very difficult object to attack. The speaker of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmytro Pletenchuk spoke about this on FREEDOM.

It was noted that there is no fortified defence perimeter on the Crimean Bridge.

According to Pletenchuk, currently ships and boats related to naval defence do not guard the bridge.

“Almost one perimeter of defense has become, one might say, less. Other systems, apparently, are working. This is air defence, this is the Russian Guard, chemical warfare, etc. Therefore, of course, the object remains quite difficult to hit, but is not sufficiently guarded,” - he commented.

As Pletenchuk noted, according to his words, there is practically no security of the bridge on the sea side.

“There are booms there in some places, but the bridge is long – 17 km, it seems. You can’t get enough booms, firstly. And secondly, the passage still remains open. Of course, there are also supervisory posts there. Of course, they are on the surface this situation is constantly monitored. The last one to carefully monitor it was the patrol ship "Serhiy Kotov". This monitoring ended very sadly for it. So now there is virtually no one there in the water area," Dmytro Pletenchuk concluded.
