The head of the Rada Committee on Energy, Andriy Herus, proposes to transfer Ukraine’s energy supply to small power plants, which are more difficult to fire.

He expressed this opinion on the air of Ukrainian Radio.

According to the people’s deputies, current energy facilities are not classified, and they are “virtually impossible to hide.”

"Work is underway to slightly change the architecture of the energy network so that we add more small-scale, distributed decentralized generation, which will be closer to the end consumer. In simple words: when we have 5-10 large power plants, then they are the targets and their can be hit. When we have hundreds of small power plants that will be located near consumers, areas where there is a serious consumption of electricity, then it will be almost impossible or very expensive to fire small objects with missiles,” Herus said.

According to Herus, as part of this work, many solar power plants and a large number of gas power plants are already being installed, mainly in cities.
