Denys Shmyhal: mobilization will be “softer”, there is no need to mobilize 500 thousand people
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said in an interview with the Estonian “ERR” that the mobilization will be “softer”, because there is no need to mobilize 500,000 people.
Shmyhal was reminded that last December, statements were made, in particular from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, about the need to mobilize 500,000 people.
In response, the Prime Minister stated that he and the Head of State were monitoring the situation - the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was changed, Oleksandr Syrskyi conducted an audit of the Defence Forces, and rotations on the front line began.
“We understand that not so many people are needed now, so mobilization will be softer. I think this year we will complete all the necessary tasks to mobilize Ukrainians,” Shmyhal noted.
According to him, the new brigades of the Defence Forces have already been completed; now Ukraine is only waiting for equipment, military equipment and ammunition from partners.
Shmyhal noted that when the new brigades are completed, combat power will be significantly increased.
