Zelenskyy: To completely cover the sky, Ukraine needs 25 Patriot systems

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview he gave to the national telethon "United News", commenting on hostile rumors about the so-called attack on Kharkiv.

“In order to close Ukraine completely, for the future it is desirable for Ukraine to have 25 Patriot systems, with 6-8 batteries in each. All our partners know this very well, they even know the points where the corresponding systems should be located and operate. Patriot systems or analogues have several analogues in the world, they also work very well,” Zelenskyy said.

As the head of state added, it may look like we are talking about a large number of systems, but the territory of Ukraine is also large.

As Zelenskyy noted, Russia will continue to attack the Ukrainian energy system.

“I believe we can go this way; we were able to protect many energy facilities with air defense and other protection of the first, second and third levels. But there are missiles against which these protective systems do not work, unfortunately. And here only Patriot or an analogue can work.”, Zelenskyy said.

In this case, as Zelenskyy said, you have to choose which object, which city to protect.

He noted that the intensity of Russian shelling is now high, and there is currently a supply of air defense missiles, but it must be taken into account that Russia may increase the intensity of shelling, and there may not be enough air defence missiles.

“If they hit like they did for the last month, we may not have enough missiles and our partners know this too. We have calculated the dates. We need these missiles, we understand how much we spend on average per day. Such processes need to be accelerated “All this costs money,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, if previously Ukraine counted on help in this matter, now it counts on contracts.

“And we have received supplies of some weapons - both artillery and air defense,” Zelenskyy said.
