US Democrats promise to support Johnson’s initiative to help Israel and Ukraine
This Saturday, April 20, the United States is scheduled to vote on bills containing aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. House Democrats should also support it.
This was stated by the leader of Democrats in the House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, Bloomberg reports.
According to the publication, the House will hold a series of votes on the relief package on Saturday, and the Senate will take it up for consideration next week.
"We will do whatever it takes to make sure that the national security bill gets across the finish line. This is not Johnson’s foreign aid package. This is America’s foreign aid package in terms of meeting our national security needs," the House Democratic leader said. Hakeem Jeffries.
It should be noted that Speaker Johnson will need Democratic votes to approve the relief plan. That’s because ultra-conservatives in the House Liberty previously said they would vote against the procedural measure to begin debating it.
