Employees of the SBI, in collaboration with the SSU, exposed the deputy director of one of the Lviv utility companies, who organized a scheme to smuggle military-age men across the border.

The husband promised two residents of the Lviv region to transport them abroad in his own minibus for 30 thousand dollars. The official assured them that he had the appropriate connections and that he and his passengers would be allowed through at the border without being checked.

After transferring the first part of the funds, namely 10 thousand dollars, the organizer was detained by a law enforcement officer.

The official was also preparing to cross the border for another citizen. For this, he managed to receive an advance from him in the amount of 8 thousand dollars.

The defendant has already been reported on suspicion of illegally transporting men of military age across the border. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 9 years with confiscation of property.
