TRC commented on the scandal with the mobilization of drivers immediately upon returning from abroad
As is known, Ukrainian international carriers have reported cases of drivers being “removed” from trucks in Transcarpathia who were returning to Ukraine from abroad. According to them, TRC representatives allegedly stop, check documents and offer to go to acquisition centers. If the drivers refuse, they are allegedly delivered by force.
In response, the Transcarpathian RTRC stated that truck drivers are citizens of Ukraine like others, and the “Shlyakh” system has nothing to do with military registration.
“If a citizen believes that he is not subject to mobilization, then he needs to have with him the appropriate military registration documents with marks confirming his legal rights to a deferment, provided for in Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization,” or with a note about removal from military registration. Or a document confirming a properly executed reservation,” the TRC noted.
They also confirmed that citizens who do not have military registration documents with them when checked at checkpoints are offered to go to the TRC to clarify the data. Currently, their cars remain under the surveillance of law enforcement officers.
