The Armed Forces of Ukraine doubt the possibility of a truce for Easter and the period of the Summer Olympic Games. Major Illya Yevlash, the speaker of the Air Force, said that in past years there was no truce, and there will not be this year.

He spoke about this in a commentary to NV. According to Yevlash, Russia has already announced that there will be no Easter truce.

“This is, in fact, such, you know, a piece of paper, because the Russians have often announced some kind of truce. These are just loud words, loud statements. However, the war will continue, I think, in spite of everything, even during the Olympic Games. Unfortunately, therefore, of course, they showed that they have nothing sacred, they beat them on New Year’s Day, and several times, just psychologically, to break, you know, this desire to spoil people, to break them psychologically, to show that there’s no chance you’ll lose, we’re still hitting,” he said.

The AF speaker added that this is even greater psychological pressure on people who are inside the country, in the rear. But the Ukrainians continue to hold out, and the enemy failed to achieve his strategic plans.

“No matter how much they wanted it, a full-scale invasion has been going on for three years now, there has been a war for 10 years, but they have not been able to achieve their strategic plans to completely destroy our strategic infrastructure. As we see, there is a connection, there is light, we continue to exist,” – he noted.

Yevlash also emphasized that the confrontation is quite tough. And even on holidays such as Easter, the occupiers can strike. They have now taken a certain pause for several days in a row.

Let us remind you that French President Emmanuel Macron said that his country would propose to Russia to cease hostilities in Ukraine during the Summer Olympic Games in Paris. During this period of the Olympic Truce, the Russian Federation will be asked to observe a “regime of silence.”
