G7 countries agreed to reduce dependence on Russian nuclear energy
Energy ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) countries have agreed to reduce dependence on Russian supplies for their nuclear energy needs.
This was reported with reference to the G7 communiqué following the meeting in Turin.
“We reaffirm the commitment of G7 leaders to reduce dependence on supplies from Russia for civilian goods, including promoting the creation of a diversified fuel supply chain free from Russian influence,” the document says.
In addition, the G7 intends to assist countries seeking to diversify supplies.
The ministers also pledged to promote nuclear fusion as the energy source of the future.
