Three policemen died as a result of car accident in Vinnytsia region

Another policeman was hospitalized with injuries.

On Saturday, May 11, an accident involving police officers occurred in the suburbs of Vinnytsia. As a result of the accident, three law enforcement officers were killed.

This was reported by the press service of the National Police in the Vinnytsia region.

The incident happened around 12:00. Three cars collided on the Vinnytsia bypass road. Investigators have preliminarily established that three police officers of the Bila Tserkva District Police Department, who were undergoing training as community police officers, died at the scene. Another law enforcement officer was hospitalised. The National Police noted that the police officers were not on duty at the time of the accident, but were returning from training.

The driver and passengers of the second car, a Toyota Tundra, were also injured. They were also hospitalised.

"The driver of the second car, a Toyota Tundra, his wife and their minor child were also taken to a medical facility. According to doctors, their lives are not in danger. The third car sustained mechanical damage," the National Police of Vinnytsia region reported.

Investigations are ongoing at the scene of the accident. Law enforcement officers are establishing the causes and circumstances of the accident.

In connection with the accident, investigators began a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Art. 286 (Violation of road safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided for by the article is imprisonment for a term of up to ten years.
