Journalist Tkach is threatened by unknown persons after the publication of the investigation "Unfit"

Mykhailo Tkach, a journalist of Ukrayinska Pravda, and other employees of the publication are being threatened by unknown persons.

This is discussed in the statement of the editorial board of the UP.

So, on May 10, a message came in one of Tkach’s messengers from a person introducing himself as Oleksandr Slobozhenko. Slobozhenko was the hero of the “Unfit” investigation. He suggested that he “make peace” for a monetary reward. The text of the message ended with the words “I do not advise delaying the answer. I also know how to fight.”

On May 11, during the day, there were a number of attempts to log into Tkach’s Monobank account by unauthorized persons. Subsequently, he began receiving dozens of calls from unknown numbers and SMS with authorization codes from banking and credit institutions.

On May 13, at least 10 UP employees received threatening letters by e-mail: “I already wrote to Tkach about this, but apparently it didn’t reach him, I’ll try to get the message across one last time. Sometimes the ability to close your mouth in time saves lives. Mine The peace proposal is valid, I’m waiting for S’s answer."

Such messages were sent not only to editorial offices, but also to the personal e-mails of journalists.

The publication regards these actions as an attempt to influence and intimidate both Mikhail Tkach and other UP employees.

The UP appealed to law enforcement officers with a statement about attempts to pressure, threaten and obstruct journalistic activities and asks to establish the identity of the sender of these letters.
