In Kharkiv region, the urgent evacuation of civilians from front-line settlements continues. Under enemy fire, rescuers from the State Emergency Service, police, volunteers and representatives of local communities are transporting civilians, primarily women, children, the elderly, people with limited mobility and people with disabilities, from the combat zone.

As of the morning of 15 May, almost 8,000 people have been evacuated from seven communities in Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Bohodukhiv districts. Psychologists are working with them. The details were disclosed by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

The morning of 15 May marked the sixth day since the start of the evacuation of civilians from frontline settlements in Kharkiv Oblast following the Russian offensive. During this time, the efforts of rescuers from the State Emergency Service, the National Police, volunteers and representatives of local communities have already evacuated about 8,000 people from under fire to safe places.

"Most of them are women, the elderly, people with limited mobility, people with disabilities and children. The evacuation is taking place in 7 communities of Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Bohodukhiv districts. Rescuers and police continue to inform the population about the need and procedure for evacuation in order to save lives," the statement said.

Rescuers also showed how the population was being evacuated in photos and videos. Touching footage radiating unity and support of Ukrainians, showing how even in the most difficult periods of life, our people do not abandon their relatives, neighbors, or pets to the mercy of fate, appeared on the State Emergency Service website.

“Already at intermediate evacuation points, State Emergency Service psychologists provide support to displaced people, stabilize their psychological state, and help them survive the grief caused by Russian terrorists,” the State Emergency Service added.
