Occupants hit a police car during the evacuation in Vovchansk

In Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, Russians hit a police car with an FPV drone during an evacuation. One law enforcement officer was killed and another was wounded.

This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.

He noted that at the time of the strike, police were on their way to save civilians.

“The occupiers hit the evacuation vehicle with an FPV drone. At that moment, there were two police officers in the vehicle who were on their way to save civilians,” Klymenko wrote.

According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the evacuation, enemy drones are constantly in the air.

“Enemy drones are constantly circling. The danger for police evacuation groups remains consistently high. But the police continue to take people out from under shelling. They will save them, despite the risks to their own lives and health. This self-sacrifice must always be remembered,” Klymenko added.

Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets responded to the Russians’ shelling of a police car.

“A police vehicle cannot be a military target in accordance with international law! This is a vehicle that is used for humanitarian purposes to help civilians. It is impossible to even confuse a police vehicle with a military one, since it is marked and designated,” the ombudsman wrote.

He also noted that this is not the first time that the Russian army has prevented the evacuation of the population from a combat zone and occupied territories.

“For two years, a terrorist country has been shelling evacuation transport, entire convoys! People are dying fleeing evil... But evil is catching up!” – he added.
