The Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill that returns basic military training to schools.
Bill No. 11092 was adopted in the second reading with 297 votes in favor.
According to the head of the subcommittee of extracurricular education of the Verkhovna Rada Committee Roman Hryschuk, the subject “Defence of Ukraine” will be studied by all students, as well as mathematics or the Ukrainian language.
“The law introduces the concept of “initial combined arms training,” which will allow the government to make the study of this subject mandatory. Greater emphasis is placed on technology, on the internal motivation of a citizen to defend his state,” added Hryschuk.
