The occupiers are building up their groups on the border with two more regions, - General Staff

The troops of the aggressor country, Russia, are building up their forces on the border with Chernihiv region and near the border with Sumy region. From there, the occupiers are launching Shaheda strikes, air and artillery attacks, and taking actions that constrain the situation.

The acting deputy chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Ihor Prokhorenko, spoke about this at a briefing in Ukrinform . According to him, the situation in the Sumy direction is under control.

“As for the Sumy direction, today the situation there is stable and controlled; in the border areas of the Russian Federation, the corresponding group of troops is holding, which is carrying out restraining actions in order to prevent the transfer of our units to other threatening directions,” Prokhorenko said.

The Russian Federation is also taking actions aimed at building up its forces on the border with the Chernihiv region and the rest of the border of the Sumy region, he added.

“Every day there, the enemy launches air and artillery strikes on the positions of our troops and civilian infrastructure, and uses Shahed-type UAVs,” said Ihor Prokhorenko.

The colonel added that in other areas the situation is stable and has not undergone any drastic changes.
