The bodies of another 212 fallen soldiers were returned to Ukraine

This was reported with reference to a statement by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

“The repatriation of the bodies took place with the assistance of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Ministry of Reintegration, the Commissioner for Missing Persons in cooperation with the Joint Center under the SSU, the Central Internal Affairs Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other law enforcement agencies, departments and international organizations,” the statement says.

The transfer of bodies of dead military personnel is carried out in accordance with the norms of the Geneva Conventions.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine will transport the repatriated bodies and remains to certain government institutions. Representatives of law enforcement agencies and forensic experts will establish the identities of the dead,” the headquarters added.

The bodies will be handed over to their families after identification for a dignified burial.
