“The commission declared him fit in 30 minutes!”: a man with mental retardation was mobilized in Odesa

They write online that a man with oligophrenia (mental retardation) and heart defects was mobilized in Odesa. He was detained and taken to the collection point of the TRC, where he passed the Military MedicalTest and was declared fit for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The video, which is being distributed online, says that the commission was completed in 30 minutes and no one paid attention to the diagnosis.

Odesa TRC commented on this situation.

The TRC stated that no medical documents confirming the guy’s diagnosis were provided either to representatives of the Kyiv RTRC and SS of the city of Odesa, or to members of the military medical commission.

It is reported that “the guy passed a military medical commission in accordance with the established procedure and was determined fit for service.”

The TRC also said that citizens diagnosed with mild mental retardation can be considered fit for military service in rear support units.
