Military police will be able to check drivers’ documents and enter homes, — media

The police, when detaining persons suspected of committing a crime, will be empowered to temporarily restrict or prohibit traffic.

Will be able to enter a home in cases related to saving lives and property, or with the direct pursuit of persons suspected of committing a crime.

The bill also provides that in the event of a state of martial law or a state of emergency, the military police will take part in:

• combating enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups on the territory of Ukraine;
• protection of military installations, military camps and their population, assistance in their evacuation;
• restoration and maintenance of order and discipline in military units;
• ensuring compliance with a special regime of entry and exit, as well as restricting the freedom of movement of persons and the movement of vehicles, etc. (the list of powers is not exhaustive).
