Polish farmers decided to continue blocking the Rava-Russka - Hrebenne checkpoint until the end of the day on June 6, postponing the unlocking to 00:00 on June 7, although it was previously expected that the blocking would end on June 6 at 14:00. Over the past 24 hours, not a single truck was able to enter Poland due to the blockade, but about 60 trucks arrived in Ukraine.

This was announced by the speaker of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko in a media commentary. “The blocking of the direction of the Rava-Russka checkpoint by Polish farmers at the specified time, as previously reported, at 14:00 on June 6 will not end,” Demchenko noted.

Earlier on the telethon, he emphasized that over the past 24 hours not a single truck crossed the border in the direction of Poland. Due to the blockade, the movement of freight vehicles is significantly hampered.

“They don’t allow trucks to enter Poland at all. Over the past 24 hours, this figure is zero,” Demchenko said. There is still some movement towards Ukraine; over the past 24 hours, about 60 trucks entered the territory of Ukraine.

Demchenko noted that other checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border have not yet been blocked. “Yesterday information was spread that supposedly protesters are blocking the Medica-Shegini direction, but the Polish side is accepting trucks coming from us,” he said.

Polish farmers are protesting over a number of economic and social issues affecting the agricultural sector. Blocking key transport routes is part of their pressure on the government.

In particular, protesters again demand to limit the import of agricultural products from Ukraine. In particular, they advocate “reducing the import of grain into Poland,” although such crops still pass through the territory of the neighboring country in transit. Similar one-day protests took place on May 10 at the Dolhobychev-Uhryniv checkpoint.

“It seems that in the play, which lasted from November last year to April 29, the second act begins after a month’s break. The new demand is as absurd as all the previous ones: “reducing the import of grain crops into Poland from Ukraine,” he commented on the situation Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev.
