HACC imposeed preventive measure on former Mukachevo City Council official
The High Anti-Corruption Court took into custody the former head of the department of communal property and land relations of the urban management department of the Mukachevo City Council of the Transcarpathian region, Artur Samilyak. NABU and SAPO suspect him of involvement in the case of Mukachevo mayor Andriy Baloha.
This decision was made by HACC investigating judge Ihor Strohyi on 27 June.
The NABU detective and the SAPO prosecutor requested that Samilyak be arrested with an alternative of UAH 10.1 million bail. The defence team objected to the motion and considered the suspicion unfounded.
"The motion is partially granted. To impose on the suspect Artur Samilyak a measure of restraint in the form of detention for a period of 60 days," the decision reads.
At the same time, he was granted an alternative bail of UAH 5 million. If bail is granted, he will be subject to the following obligations: to arrive at every request; not to leave the city of Mukachevo; to report changes in his place of residence and/or work; to refrain from communicating with other suspects and witnesses; to surrender his passports and wear an electronic bracelet.
