The Russian offensive in the Toretsk sector has intensified significantly, as the invaders hope to enter Toretsk to capture Kostyantynivka in Donetsk region by another route.

Kyrylo Sazonov, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and political scientist, stated this in an interview with Channel 24.

He stressed that the Russians need the Toretsk direction for two reasons: "The first is to storm Chasiv Yar with all their forces, because so far they have not been able to break through to Kostyantynivka. The Russians are putting pressure on the Toretsk direction to capture Kostyantynivka by another route. In this way, the Russians pose a threat to the Ukrainian military. in the Pokrovsk direction and in the rear in Chasiv Yar. - Toretsk is the border with the districts of Horlivka, such as Bessarabka and Mykytivka."

According to Sazonov, if the Ukrainian Armed Forces had reserves, they would have launched an offensive on occupied Horlivka, "even without equipment, it is a 1-2 leap, so our advance to this foothold made them constantly nervous."
