On Tuesday, July 23, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a search in the house of propagandist Zhan Novoseltsev.

Information about this was confirmed to Zaxid.Net by the press service of the SSU.

According to the publication, Novoseltsev’s case is classified under the article on obstructing the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The search warrant was issued by the Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv.

Zhan Novoseltsev is the founder of Channel 17 and former host of the "Money" program on the 1+1 channel. In May 2014, “1+1” broke off its employment relationship with Novoseltsev “due to cooperation with the GromTV channel.” Novoseltsev founded Channel 17, which he started using in February 2017.

In 2019, Novoseltsev ran for parliament in the single-mandate constituency No. 94 in the Kyiv region (centre of the constituency: Obukhiv city; Vasylkiv and Obukhiv towns; Vasylkiv and Obukhiv districts), but did not make it to the Verkhovna Rada.

In 2015, Novoseltsev and Oleksiy Kutepov told Rossiya 24 "how independent media are being strangled in Ukraine", namely Channel 17.
