China calls the war in Ukraine a “Ukrainian crisis”, not a war, - Kuleba
This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmytro Kuleba in an interview with TSN following his visit to Beijing.
“They stuck to their terminology – ‘Ukrainian crisis,’” Kuleba said.
The minister said that the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Ukraine needs a “fair and lasting peace.” At the same time, Kuleba did not answer the question of what kind of world the PRC considers “fair”.
“Leave it to the diplomats,” he said.
Also, answering the question “is there a feeling that China can take Ukraine’s side,” the minister said that “China will only stand on China’s side.”
Kuleba also did not answer the question whether China will be at the Second Peace Summit, and also avoided answering the question whether he and his Chinese colleague spoke about Beijing’s military assistance to Russia.
In addition, the minister urged not to push the topic of Taiwan, since “no one questions China’s sovereignty over Taiwan.”
Including, according to him, “none of our partners in Europe and America” question Chinese sovereignty over the island.
