Military registration and enlistment offices, starting from July 16, are sending out summonses to undergo a military medical commission, the lawyer recalled. If you don’t show up on time when summoned, you will be issued a fine and will have to pay up to 25.5 thousand UAH.

After July 16, Ukrainians during mobilization can expect a wave of summonses sent out by territorial recruitment centers (TRCs). Certain categories of the population will receive summonses and, if they are not responded to, the military commissars will issue the first fine. Lawyer Roman Simutin told TSN about the details of TRC’s actions and fines.

TRC fines during mobilization in Ukraine

Simutin explained that, according to his estimates, the first fines for violating mobilization requirements in Ukraine will begin on August 20 or September 2024. He calculates the deadlines from July 16 - the day by which those liable for military service were supposed to update the data in the TRC.

“If someone has already been sent a summons after July 16, then the first decisions can be expected at the end of August,” he said, recalling that fines now range from 17 to 25.5 thousand UAH.

Who will receive the summons

With increased mobilization in Ukraine, not all those liable for military service will receive a summons in August and over the next months, the lawyer noted. In particular, from the 4.6 million Ukrainians who updated their data before July 16, the reserved and unsuitable ones should be subtracted. Consequently, there may remain approximately 1.5 million people liable for military service - suitable, unbooked, with updated TRC data. It is these people who may soon receive a summons to undergo a military medical commission, the journalists’ interlocutor noted.

“It is possible that those who do not have a deferment or reservation will receive summonses,” Simutin said.

What are the deadlines for the agenda?

Let us note that we previously wrote about how much time a person liable for military service has to come to the TRC after receiving a summons. Lawyer Serhiy Dubko described the procedure for preparing and sending this document:

  • First, the summons is signed by the head of the military registration and enlistment office;
  • then you have 48 hours to send it to the citizen;
  • the citizen has two weeks to report to the military registration and enlistment office.

If this requirement is violated, the TRC has the right to issue a fine in the context of increased mobilization in Ukraine. Registration of the punishment will also take time, the Ministry of Defence lawyer explained on the department’s YouTube channel. The speed with which this will be done depends on the specifics of the organization of work in each individual military registration and enlistment office.
