The head of the Donetsk regional administration, Vadym Filashkin, said that the city of Toretsk, which is being advanced by Russian troops, was destroyed by 70 per cent, but that about 3,500 people remain in the city.

“The city of Toretsk was destroyed by 70%. Two weeks ago there were 5.5 thousand people there, and now there are 3.5 thousand there. People are leaving, but not as quickly as we would like,” Filashkin said on Ukrainian television.

Meanwhile, the head of the Toretsk city administration, Vasyl Chynchyk, said that the city is under the complete control of Ukraine, and the data about its capture by Russia do not correspond to reality.
