The aggressor country, Russia, hit Ukraine with ballistics on the night of August 1st. The enemy also launched kamikaze drones of the Shahed-131/136 type - the sky defenders shot down all seven of these targets.

Details regarding the missile attack are currently unknown. The commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, spoke about repelling the attack.

He noted that the occupiers launched Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied Crimea. They launched drones from Cape Chauda (Crimea) and Russian Kursk.

“The radio technical troops detected and escorted seven suicide bombers. All were shot down by air defence in the Kyiv, Poltava, Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk regions,” Oleshchuk said.
